Plan for daytime restrictions on Interstate 40 southwest of Kingman March 25 through April 26
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on Interstate 40 southwest of Kingman to plan for continuing daytime delays through April for the installation of new guardrail.
The following restrictions are currently in place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
Currently underway through Friday, March 22:
- Griffith Road (milepost 37) between the east and westbound ramps is reduced to one lane.
- Flaggers and a pilot car are assisting drivers through the work zone.
- A 14-foot vehicle width restriction is in place.
- Drivers should be prepared to come to a complete stop when approaching and driving through the work zone.
Monday, March 25 through Friday, April 26
- I-40 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between Holy Moses Wash and the Shinarump traffic interchange (mileposts 33 to 46).
- A 16-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment while construction is underway.
This work is in preparation for a spring 2024 paving project that includes replacing the riding surface along a 14-mile section of I-40 between Walnut Creek and Holy Moses Wash (mileposts 33 - 47).
