Kyle B. Robinson, Maricopa County District 1

Brief Background History

Kyle B. Robinson has been a resident of Maricopa County since 1991.  Kyle has resided in Idaho, California, Utah, Thailand and Arizona.  He has been employed in the Aerospace and Automotive Industry since graduating from Brigham Young University with a Mechanical Engineering BS Degree in 1981.

Kyle has worked as a test engineer on the Space Shuttle Program, Space Based Laser Program and in an automotive airbag test lab. He is currently employed as a test engineer for Orbital Sciences in Chandler, Arizona.

Kyle currently lives in Queen Creek and is married with 3 children and one grandchild.


Leadership and Community Activities

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 1975 through 1977 - Volunteer service teaching religion and English in Thailand.

Boy Scouts of America. 1/93 to the present - Supervised and taught youth.  Positions included Merit Badge Counselor, Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Assistant District Commissioner and currently, Eagle Rank Mentor assisting youth in choosing worthwhile community service projects.

9/2001 - 6/2004 - Arizona District 19 Precinct Committeeman


Town of Queen Creek

2005 - Graduating from Queen Creek’s Citizen Leadership Institute Finance Task Force.11/2008 through 6/2009 - Helped develop recommendations to fund primarily transportation, parks and recreation services.

Emergency Medical/Fire Committee. 9/2005 through 11/2006 - Helped develop financial and service options for the Town Council. Actively involved in promoting a successful ballot measure providing a compromise of sales tax and property tax to support required services.

Transportation Advisory Committee 4/2008 to the present - Actively involved in developing recommendations for Traffic Medians and Control in Queen Creek’s Town Center. Offered ideas that were compromises of each special interest group.  Recommendations were developed and submitted to the Town Council for consideration.

Philosophy

Politics is the human art of choosing between conflicting goals and opinions.

The challenge of government is to focus on that which is of most value to the community as a whole, but not necessarily pleasing to a specific individual
