Motorists on Interstate 10 near Benson will encounter lane closures next week as the Arizona Department of Transportation continues working on new eastbound lanes.
The following lane restrictions are scheduled for next week:
- The left lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday (April 2) beginning at the SR 90 interchange and continuing for one mile to the State Route 80 interchange (Exit 303) to allow crews to pave the outside edge of the passing lane.
- The left lane of westbound I-10 will be closed from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday (April 3) beginning at the SR 90 interchange and continuing for one mile to allow safe access to the construction area.
The work is part of the on-going $27.6 million project to replace the I-10 overpass at SR 90, straighten a segment of I-10 west of the interchange and make improvements to SR 90 near I-10.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
