Interstate 40 Chambers Port of Entry Project

ADOT Project No 040 AP 322 H 5526 01C
Federal Aid No. 040 E(001)A

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in association with the Federal Highway Administration, is proposing to construct a new Port of Entry at approximately milepost 322 on westbound Interstate 40 west of Chambers. The existing Sanders Port of Entry on I-40 at milepost 341 was constructed in 1966 and is not able to meet demand generated by current and future truck traffic. The new Chambers Port of Entry will manage and regulate commercial traffic entering Arizona more efficiently and effectively.

The project is currently in the design phase. Construction funding is not currently programmed and a schedule for construction has not been established.
