The Roadway Design Section consists of six teams providing design services, review and technical support throughout the design community. Our three Design teams produce highway construction plans consisting of horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, earthwork, drainage features, barrier features, typical sections, pavement treatments, intersections, interchanges, turnouts, driveways, fencing, gates, curb, gutter, sidewalks, handrails, cattleguards, detours and phasing.

Our Support team develops, maintains and provides technical support for Roadway Design guidelines, policies, standards and procedures, Construction Standard Drawings and design detail drawings, CADD guidelines, procedures, menus, cells and training.

Our Review team provides plans review, interpretation and guidance to in-house and consultant predesign and design teams throughout the development process.

Our On-call Management team oversees the development of design work performed by on-call consultants.
