Arizona's 511 Telephone System

The Transportation Technology Group (TTG) maintains Arizona's 511 telephone system. 511, like 911 and other "N-11" systems, are designated by the FCC. 511, in particular, was designated in July 2000 as the national travel information number.

ADOT implemented its telephone-based travel information system in 1998, prior to FCC designation of the three-digit number, and implemented 511 statewide in March 2002.
