Regional Transportation Plan Phase I (2006-2010)
Construction began in June 2007. The Dixileta Drive interchange was completed in March 2008 and the Jomax Road interchange was completed in September 2008.
Budget:
$35.8 million for both projects
Project Details: In partnership with the City of Phoenix, a new full diamond traffic interchange was constructed at Interstate 17 (Black Canyon Freeway) and Jomax Road and a half diamond traffic interchange with ramps to the south was constructed at I-17 and Dixileta Drive. New bridge structures were constructed at Jomax Road and Dixileta Drive over I-17. Existing two way frontage roads along I-17 between Happy Valley Road and Dixileta Drive were converted to more efficient and safer one way roads. New northbound and southbound frontage road bridges over Skunk Creek were also included in the project.
