Phoenix Maintenance Districts' geographic service area is 3,750 square miles centered on metropolitan Phoenix. The majority of the district is found within Maricopa County, and the balance is in Pinal County. The Phoenix Maintenance District partners with 18 incorporated cities and towns, three Native American nations, two counties, plus numerous state and federal agencies. There are more than three million people in this fast growing area. It is the sixth largest metropolitan area in the United States, and the largest in Arizona.
