Interstate 10/State Route 90 improvement work continues next week
Eastbound I-10 connection to State Route 80 reopens Monday mid-morning
September 30, 2011
The Arizona Department of Transportation will continue working on improvements near the Interstate 10/State Route 90 junction next week. Crews will be switching the existing right lane closure on eastbound Interstate 10, east of State Route 90, to the left lane of eastbound I-10 on Monday (October 3) at approximately 9:30 a.m. The lane switch will allow eastbound motorists to again access the SR 80 entrance ramp (Exit 303), which has been closed for construction the past couple of weeks. This work is part of a highway improvement project which features a new overpass bridge that is being constructed near Benson.
The left lane closure on I-10 begins just east of SR 90 (Exit 302) and continues until Ocotillo Avenue (Exit 304). The closure will be in place around the clock until Friday (October 21) and will allow ADOT to replace the eastbound left lane with a new lane that will provide motorists with a smoother ride.
Westbound I-10 will remain open to traffic during this work.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
