As work continues on the I-10 widening project near Casa Grande, drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:
- Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane in both directions at Val Vista Road from 7 p.m. Monday (April 9) to 6 a.m. Tuesday (April 10) for temporary concrete barrier work.
- Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane in both directions at Val Vista Road from 7 p.m. Tuesday (April 10) to 6 a.m. Wednesday (April 11) for temporary concrete barrier work.
Construction on this I-10 widening project began in January 2011. Once completed in late 2012, I-10 will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction between Val Vista and Earley roads. Road improvements will also be made at McCartney Road and Florence Boulevard traffic interchanges, as well as repaving Val Vista Road, Cottonwood Lane, and Earley Road overpasses.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through or near work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
