The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have identified necessary improvements to the I-8/Araby Road traffic interchange to relieve the existing and projected traffic congestion concerns in the area. The project team has begun planning and designing improvements for the I-8/Araby Road TI. The improvements will be designed and constructed using Highway Safety Improvement Program funds.
Roundabouts provide feasible solution to capacity needs
With the construction of roundabouts, capacity can be added without requiring costly I-8/Araby Road TI reconstruction and substantial impacts to adjacent properties.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) invite you to attend a public information open house meeting to learn about the Interstate 8 / Araby Road Traffic Interchange (TI) Reconstruction Project and provide us with your comments.
The project consists of removing the traffic signals at the Araby Road TI and replacing them with roundabouts to improve safety and traffic capacity.
The meeting will include a brief presentation by the project team, followed by a question-and-answer session.
