The final pavement work on State Route 66 from Airway Avenue to Mohave Airport Drive is scheduled overnight 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 through Tuesday, Aug. 29, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone and motorists should plan for minimal delays. The speed limit is reduced to 35 mph in the work zone. ADOT advises motorists to slow down and be alert for construction personnel and equipment.
The $3 million project includes repaving the roadway, new guardrail, new curb and gutter and other improvements. Final details, including adjusting manholes to the grade of the new pavement and permanent lane striping, are scheduled for completion in October.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
