The Arizona Department of Transportation is currently working on an intersection reconstruction project on State Route 85 and Business Route 8 (Butterfield Road) in Gila Bend. Tomorrow, Thursday, September 6, crews will be intermittently stopping traffic to create a safe work zone on Business Route 8 (Butterfield Road) between 5:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Minor delays may be experienced. Drivers are urged to plan ahead.
What to expect during work hours:
- Traffic will need to come to a complete stop before reaching State Route 85 on Business Route 8 (Butterfield Road) while workers alternate traffic through the work zone.
- Delays of approximately 15 minutes may be experienced.
- Reduced speed limits through the work zone.
- Law enforcement will be on-site to control traffic and monitor speeds.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
