Lighting and roadway improvements on SR 89A in Sedona begin Feb. 27.

Traffic restrictions will begin at Dry Creek Road

March 8, 2012

FLAGSTAFF — Construction to install roadway lighting in Sedona on State Route 89A from Dry Creek Road to Airport Road will begin on Feb. 27, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The $4.3 million project also includes a new traffic signal at Andante Drive and roadway repaving from Arroyo Piñon Drive to just west of State Route 179.

Initial work will involve placement of electric lines beginning at Dry Creek Road and will require moving lane restrictions on SR 89A from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Approximately 1,500 ' of the eastbound curb lane of SR 89A will be restricted to provide a safe work zone. The lane restriction will move east each day as construction progresses. Restrictions will be removed at the end of each work day and access to businesses will remain open throughout the project area.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
