Paving continues on State Route 89A in Sedona next week

Lane restrictions during overnight work hours

Paving on State Route 89A in Sedona from Piñon Drive to just west of State Route 179 is scheduled 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 through Thursday Aug. 9, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. There will be intermittent lane restrictions during work hours

The work is part of the roadway and safety improvement project currently under way. The project also includes the installation of roadway lighting along SR 89A from Dry Creek Road to Airport Drive. Crews are currently constructing the foundations for the light poles, which will be installed after the paving is complete.

Additionally, the project includes a new traffic signal at Andante Drive. The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of August.

Motorists are advised to pay close attention to signage and observe posted speed limits which will be reduced in the work zones.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
