Unique Features of Section
- Picacho Peak State Park is located off I-10 at milepost 219. This park is noted for its nature and hiking trails to the peak’s summit 1500 feet above the desert floor. RV hookups, campgrounds and group-use areas are available.
- Sacaton Rest Areas are located on Eastbound and Westbound Interstate10 at milepost 181.8. Both rest areas have handicap restrooms, picnic facilities, pay phones and vending machines with snacks and soft drinks.
- Picnic Sites on I-8 with Handicap Access are located at eastbound milepost 149.9 and westbound milepost 150.85.
- There are 2 Indian Nations, Gila River and the AK-Chin Indian, located within the boundaries of this Maintenance Section.
