The project to improve and widen the bridge at Avenue 3E between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma will require intermittent delays on Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Wednesday, Nov. 14, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Crews will be installing new traffic signals at the Avenue 3E and Interstate 8 traffic interchange and at the Gila Ridge Road and Avenue 3E intersection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days.
What to expect during traffic signal installation:
- Traffic will be intermittently stopped as needed during the installation of mast arms over the roadway between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
- Law enforcement will be on-site to control traffic and monitor speeds.
- Delays of approximately 10 minutes may be experienced.
- Reduced speed limits through the work zone.
- Business access will be maintained.
The project is a cooperative effort between ADOT and the City of Yuma and is scheduled for completion in summer 2013.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
