As crews continue work on the final striping of the I-10 widening project between Interstate 8 and State Route 87, drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:
Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Toltec Road and I-8 from 7 p.m. Monday (March 5) to 6 a.m. Tuesday (March 6) for final lane striping.
Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Battaglia Road and SR 87 from 7 p.m. Monday (March 5) to 6 a.m. Tuesday (March 6) for final lane striping.
Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes between SR 87 and Sunshine Boulevard from 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 6) to 6 a.m. Wednesday (March 7) for final lane striping.
Construction on this I-10 widening project began in September 2010. When the project is completed this spring, motorists traveling between Phoenix and Tucson will be able to use three travel lanes in this widened segment of I-10. This project also includes reconstruction and improvement work on bridges and ramps along the project area between I-8 and SR 87.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through or near work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
