Off-ramp paving scheduled at Cordes Junction Monday night

Southbound off-ramp from I-17 to SR 69 intermittently closed midnight to 6 a.m

April 20, 2012

Drivers who travel on Interstate 17 through Cordes Junction should plan for brief delays Monday night (April 23) at the southbound I-17 off-ramp to State Route 69, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Crews will be paving the off-ramp from midnight to 6 a.m. and will close the off-ramp intermittently for up to 15 minutes.

Drivers who do not want to wait for the off-ramp to be reopened can continue south three miles to Bloody Basin Road (Exit 259) and then turn around and use northbound I-17 to reach the SR 69 exit.

Additionally, lane restrictions will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. next week to provide a safe work zone for paving operations:

  • On Monday night (April 23) the right lane southbound on I-17 will be closed.
  • On Thursday night (April 26) the right lane northbound on I-17 will be closed.

The work zone and all detours will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

The work is part of a $50 million project to reconstruct the I-17/SR 69 interchange.
