Historic US 66 Signing in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), along with the Mohave County Road Department and local agencies, has placed signs marking the route of Historic US 66 across Arizona.

The designation of highways as Historic US 66 was made by the State of Arizona Parkways, Historic, and Scenic Roads Advisory Committee (PHSRAC).

The sign design was created by Richard Moeur and Diane Ravitch of ADOT's Traffic Engineering Group.

ADOT's Traffic Engineering Group, along with the Regional Traffic Engineering staff, Interstate Signing crews, and the ADOT Sign Factory then created a plan for placing signing along the designated routes.

Signs have been placed along Interstate 40, Business Route 40, State Route 66, and county highways in the following locations:

  • Topock/Golden Shores
  • Oatman
  • Kingman
  • Peach Springs
  • Seligman
  • Crookton Road
  • Ash Fork
  • Williams
  • Flagstaff
  • Winslow
  • Joseph City
  • Holbrook
