Art of Transportation: Majesty below the cliffs near US 89A

Road to Lee's Ferry in Northern AZ

By Caroline Carpenter / ADOT Communications

In this installment of the Art of Transportation, we invite you to take in the view near US 89A as it runs below the majestic Vermilion Cliffs. Shown is the road from US 89A to Lees Ferry, which is considered the start of the Grand Canyon because it's where you can find the first rapid on rafting trips down the Colorado River.

Visit the National Park Service for more history on Lees Ferry

Art of Transportation
We think there is beauty in transportation. It’s not all hard hats and pavement. Art of Transportation is a blog series featuring unique photos our team has taken while on the road or on a construction project.
