Who is eligible to receive Section 5310 assistance? |
| |
|
Private-non-profit (PNP) agencies, Native American Tribes and public agencies transporting elderly persons (60 yrs +) or persons with disabilities of any age. Private-for-profit operators may serve as subcontractors to Section 5310 recipients, but are not direct recipients of ADOT funds. |

Who is eligible for Seciton 5311 assistance? |

Operating and/or capital assistance is provided to qualifying (via application/statewide review and available funding) cities, towns, counties and Tribal governments. Feasibility studies must first be conducted (contact Sam Chavez or Teri Kennedy) and a pilot program implemented before applying for 5311 assistance. |

Potential funding is determined through regional (5310) and statewide (5311) application processes, where assistance levels are determined based on ADOT's overall federal budget and individual recipient qualifications. |

What kind of grant assistance can I get from Section 5310? |
| |
|
Section 5310 provides vans, radios, and related program equipment for qualifying agencies. ADOT purchases the vans for awarded applicants, and these agencies remit their local matching funds (approximately 20% of the total invoice) prior to delivery. |

What can a Section 5310 van can be used for? |
| |
|
A 5310 van is to be used for non-emergency transport for elderly persons (60yrs +) or persons with disabilities of any age--for almost any purpose (see the Program Guidelines). As space and scheduling permits, other people may be provided rides--as long as the primary 5310 service is not compromised. |

What are local matching funds? |
| |
|
With few exceptions, ADOT's grant assistance programs require local financial participation as well. Local matching funds are those which are provided by an applicant to "match" with the federal share being provided by ADOT. These two amounts equal 100% of the local grant application. The local portion varies by specific program and use of funds. For 5310, contact your Regional COG or MPO representative or Ms. Loretta Crimi. For 5311, contact Sam Chavez. |
