We are intent on processing your application for ADOT/CDLE in an expeditious and timely manner. To begin the process of becoming an Authorized Tester, you will need to provide required documents.
An Authorized Third Party (ATP) Commercial Driver License Examination provider is an entity contracted and authorized by the department to administer class A, B or C driver license skills tests. The Authorized Third Party must employ at least one certified commercial driver license examiner.
In accordance with Administrative Rules R17-7-301(A)(10), fingerprints are required to be submitted with each application for a Commercial Driver License Third Party Examiner Certification, so that a state and federal criminal records check can be conducted. This process is coordinated through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Fingerprint cards may be obtained from the CDLE section.
CDL Examiner Training is a three-part online course covering inspection skills, basic skills and road testing. The completion of this course is required prior to renewing your CDL examiner certification.
