Each applicant who is not currently licensed as a motor vehicle dealer must submit a fingerprint card along with supporting documents. These documents will be submitted for a criminal records check. This process takes approximately three to four weeks.

After successful completion of the criminal records check, you will receive an invoice for your ADOT motor vehicle dealer license. Your license will be issued upon payment.

Note: Entities that meet the statutory definition of a Sales Finance Company under ARS § 44-281 are still required to be licensed by the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). You will need to check with DFI regarding licensing requirements. Visit the DFI Sales Finance Company website for more information.
