Interstate 17 Pavement Preservation Project from Arizona Canal to 19th Avenue

Traffic Alerts

The following restrictions will be in place from 10 p.m. Friday, June 23, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 26:

  • Southbound I-17 will be closed between Dunlap Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Alternate routes include the southbound frontage road or State Route 51.
  • The northbound I-17 HOV lane will be closed between Glendale and Northern avenues
  • The southbound I-17 on ramps will be closed at Dunlap, Northern and Glendale avenues. Drivers can access southbound I-17 at Bethany Home Road.
  • East and westbound Northern Avenue will be restricted to one lane at I-17. Expect heavy traffic in the area.
Pedestrian Facilities

ADOT is also reconstructing pedestrian crosswalk facilities and making sidewalk improvements at the cross street intersections along I-17 between Dunlap and 19th avenues. Work began in October and will continue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Mondays through Fridays, through summer 2017. Traffic is not impacted. Pedestrians should use caution and observe all signage in the active work zones.
