Colcord Bridge Replacement

Project Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is administering a bridge replacement project for the Gila County Public Works Department. The existing 100-year old Colcord Road Bridge over Gordon Canyon Creek will be replaced with a new, wider bridge meeting current standards that will improve the safety for motorists and reduce future maintenance costs.

The bridge is located 3 miles east of State Route 260 near milepost 277 on Colcord Road. Work on the $1.1 million project is set to begin Sept. 18, 2020 and is expected to be completed in January 2021.

What to Expect

The bridge will close on Friday, Sept 18, and remain closed through Thursday, Sept. 24. A temporary one-lane detour around the existing bridge will be constructed utilizing timed traffic signals for local traffic only while the bridge-replacement is underway.

Motorists might experience short-term traffic delays.
