Interstate 40: Cataract Lake Road to Parks Paving

The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration are repairing 17 miles of pavement on Interstate 40 between Parks and Williams in northern Arizona. The project also includes bridge deck repairs at the railroad overpass near Williams.

During summer 2018, crews completed work to repair 17 miles of pavement in both directions, rebuild 5 miles of I-40 in both directions between milepost 167 and 172, and rebuild 1 mile in both directions near the Parks interchange.

Construction paused for the winter season and crews are scheduled to return in spring 2019 for additional paving, bridge and intersection work. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2019.

What to expect:

  • Crews are scheduled to work Mondays through Fridays from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Lane closures, ramp closures and roadway restrictions will be required.
