State Route 260: S Forest Service Road 159 to Old Rim Road

The Arizona Department of Transportation is initiating a $3.8 million pavement life extension project to improve the roadway along a 10-mile stretch of State Route 260 between S Forest Service Road 159 and Old Rim Road (mileposts 272 - 283) in Gila County.

The project includes removing the existing pavement, replacing it with new asphalt and re-striping the roadway.

Construction is anticipated to begin this spring and continue through fall 2022. The project will occur within ADOT right-of-way. Access to businesses, recreational facilities and residences will be maintained throughout construction. The purpose of the project is to replace the top layer of the pavement that will extend its life, upgrade its condition and improve roadway safety.
