State Route 99: Canyon Diablo Bridge Rehabilitation

Overview

Project Cost: $744,000

 

The Arizona Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration is initiating a bridge rehabilitation project on State Route 99 near the community of Leupp in Coconino County (between mileposts 71-72).  

The work is scheduled to begin this spring, and final project completion is anticipated in the fall of 2022. The project is needed to protect the Canyon Diablo Bridge pier foundations from failure due to erosion by installing erosion counter measures

While rehabilitation work is underway, motorists will encounter daytime lane restrictions. Throughout the project schedule, a minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained. ADOT advises drivers to plan for possible delays while the work is underway. 

To inform drivers of the construction project, temporary advance warning signs will be posted two miles south of the project limits on State Route 99 and along Indian Route15/Leupp Road.
