The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for traffic restrictions on US 180 (Humphrey’s Street) between Cherry Avenue and Historic Route 66 (B40) in Flagstaff as work begins on improvements at the US 180 (Humphrey’s Street) and Historic Route 66 (B40) intersection.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, July 20, drivers should allow extra travel time while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Southbound US 180: No left turns south of Cherry Avenue, including at the intersections of Cherry Avenue (which is currently closed for city of Flagstaff construction work), Aspen Avenue and Historic Route 66.
  • Northbound US 180: No left turns at Aspen Avenue (use Birch Avenue as an alternate route).

Southbound US 180 drivers wanting to travel east on Historic Route 66 (B40) can use Beaver Street, between Dale Avenue and Historic Route 66 (B40), as an alternate route during the road construction project. One northbound and one southbound lane will remain open on US 180 during construction.

The construction project, which is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2020, will add a second right-turn lane at the US 180/Route 66 intersection for drivers approaching the intersection from southbound US 180.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the road construction project is underway.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
