Traffic Alerts - I-40: Markham Wash Bridge to East Seligman TI

Update: Two-week westbound lane restrictions and ramp restrictions on Interstate 40 near Seligman and Anvil Rock Road beginning June 17

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for westbound lane and ramp restrictions on Interstate 40 near Seligman between mileposts 123 and 108 beginning Wednesday, June 17, and ending Thursday, July 2.

Drivers should allow extra travel time while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Westbound I-40 narrowed to one lane from near Seligman (milepost 123) to Anvil Rock Road (milepost 108) beginning 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 2.  No weekend work scheduled for June 20 -21, but weekend work may be scheduled for June 27-28.
  • Westbound I-40 alternating off - and on-ramp closures from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 2, only one of the following ramps will be closed at a time:
    • Anvil Rock Road (exit 109), motorist can use exit 121 to access Fort Rock Road to Anvil Rock Road.
    • Exit 123 on-ramp, motorists will detour to exit 121 to access I-40B Seligman and westbound I-40.
    • Exit 121, motorists can use exit 123 to access I-40B Seligman and westbound I-40.
  • Law enforcement may be on site to assist with traffic control. 

The restrictions are needed as ADOT works to improve roadway safety and pavement conditions on this segment of I-40. The project includes reconstructing sections of the roadway, milling and replacing pavement, removal and replacement of existing guardrail and applying a fog-seal coat.

Drivers are asked to obey traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
