Traffic Alerts Interstate 40: Pineveta Draw Bridges, Ash Fork

Restrictions scheduled on Interstate 40 west of Ash Fork April 12 – Oct. 15

Drivers should use caution and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on Interstate 40 at the Pineveta Draw Bridge west of Ash Fork beginning Monday, April 12.

Motorists should allow extra travel time, be prepared to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are in place:

  • East- and westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between mileposts 138 and 139 beginning Monday, April 12, until Friday, Oct. 15.
  • A 14-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

The restrictions are needed for crews to complete replacement of the Pineveta Draw Bridge decks and install erosion-control measures.
