Traffic Alert - Stockton Hill Road Safety Project

Update: Lane closures at two intersections on Stockton Hill Road in Kingman scheduled Dec. 6 - 10

Traffic signals will also be shut down at the two intersections

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in coordination with the city of Kingman, advises drivers to plan for overnight lane restrictions at the intersections of Sycamore Avenue and Hospital Drive on Stockton Hill Road. The restrictions are needed for crews to install several traffic signal heads and control cabinets.

The traffic signals at the two intersections will be inoperable while work is underway.

The following overnight restrictions will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Monday, Dec. 6, and Tuesday, Dec. 7: Sycamore Avenue intersection.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 8, and Thursday, Dec. 9: Hospital Drive intersection.
  • Law enforcement will be assisting with traffic control.
  • One travel lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zones.
  • Expect delays in the work zones.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment in the work zones.

The safety project, which will enhance driver and pedestrian safety in a 1.2-mile section of the city’s busy retail, commercial and medical corridor, includes:

  • Advanced street-name signs.
  • Speed feedback signs.
  • Protected and permissive left-turn arrows.
  • Reflective borders on the traffic signals.
  • Upgraded existing pavement markings.

The final lane striping and paving is scheduled to be completed in January.
