Traffic Alerts - SR 89 Road 1 North Road, Chino Valley

Update: Traffic shift on State Route 89 at the Road 1 North intersection in Chino Valley scheduled through Oct. 1

Drivers should use caution and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists who use State Route 89 in Chino Valley that all traffic will be shifted to the eastside of the highway starting Tuesday, Aug. 24, as work continues on the Road 1 North traffic signal installation and road improvement project.

The traffic shift will be in effect around-the-clock from 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, to 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1

  • North- and southbound SR 89 will maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction while the traffic shift is in effect.
  • A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.

Drivers should slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
