I-10: Bridge Projects near Vail

Overnight closures of State Route 83 at Interstate 10 to continue through late September

Motorists on Interstate 10 and State Route 83 near Vail should expect continued overnight traffic restrictions through late September.

The following restrictions will be in place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays while crews complete work near I-10:

  • The SR 83 bridge will close to all traffic. Vehicles needing to cross I-10 at the bridge will be detoured to Wentworth and Sahuarita roads.
  • I-10 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. Periodically, all eastbound traffic will detour off the interstate using the exit ramp and re-enter I-10 using the entrance ramp.
  • Westbound I-10 traffic will be diverted to a temporary bypass in the median.

During the day, the SR 83 bridge over I-10 will be restricted to a single lane with a temporary traffic signal to allow traffic to cross.

Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.
