The Arizona Department of Transportation is completing a safety project to install signals in three locations along State Route 87 in the Gila River Indian Community near Sacaton.

  • SR 87 and SR 187/Olberg Road (milepost 146)
  • SR 87 and Sacaton Road (milepost 151)
  • SR 87 and Gilbert Road (milepost 156)

The project started in May 2020 with underground work adjacent to the road. After signal poles arrive in late 2020, crews will install them, activate the signals and adjust the final roadway striping.

Traffic Impacts

  • Lane shifts at the intersection locations
  • Intermittent flaggers
  • Short delays while crews are working within the roadway

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
