I-10: Bouse Wash Area Rehabilitation

The Arizona Department of Transportation is rehabilitating the Interstate 10 Bouse Wash Area at milepost 53.

The work consists of rehabilitation of the eastbound and westbound rest areas to include upgrading equipment in the rest rooms, vending building renovations, ramada renovations, and parking lot improvements.

The work also includes pavement markings and signage, improving residence building flooring, ADA compliance upgrades, rehabilitation of the existing water and wastewater systems, and other related work items.


Project Area

The project is located in La Paz County along Interstate 10 near Bouse at milepost 52.

What to expect:

The project is scheduled to begin summer 2021 with completion anticipated in late fall 2021. Drivers should plan for closures during rehabilitation.

Travelers may continue to use the Burnt Well rest area along I-10 at milepost 86 or the Ehrenberg rest area near the California state line while the Bouse Wash rest area is closed.
