Interstate 10 Tyson Wash Bridges Spot Repair and Scour Retrofit, Quartzsite

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are replacing four existing bridge joints on the eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 Tyson Wash Bridges, located in the Quartzite town limits.

The Tyson wash is one of the largest washes running through the town of Quartzsite.

The work will consist of repairing the bridge joints at the bridge decks in order to smooth the bridge deck transitions and to construct an erosion prevention system, which will provide protection of the bridge structures in a major flood event.

The project is scheduled to begin in August 2020 with completion anticipated in late December 2020.

Project Area

The project area is on Interstate 10 between mileposts 18 and 19 within the Quartzsite town limits.
