Interstate 8 Bridge Deck Rehabilitation in Yuma County

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating various bridge decks within a 32-mile span of Interstate 8 in Yuma County. 

Other key elements of the project include:

  • Installation of new guardrail
  • New concrete sidewalk and sidewalk ramps
  • New pedestrian push buttons
  • New pavement markings 
  • Sign upgrades

Expect to see crews working on various bridges within the city of Yuma and the town of Wellton between mileposts 0.1 and milepost 33 I-8 Bridge Deck Rehabilitation Flyer

What to Expect

ADOT has scheduled work to occur on the following bridges beginning late spring 2022 with completion anticipated winter 2022. 

  • 4th Street Traffic Interchange Overpass 
  • Avenue 2E Underpass (Pacific Avenue) 
  • Telegraph Pass Overpass 
  • Wellton Road Traffic Interchange Underpass 
  • County Road 31E Underpass 

Drivers should expect possible delays at times throughout the project and should consider alternate routes. Work is scheduled to occur from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Some bridges will experience overnight lane restrictions. The 4th Street Traffic Interchange Overpass will be reduced to one lane 24 hours and 7 days a week beginning summer 2022.
