State Route 85 Pavement Preservation

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration are repairing the pavement on State Route 85 between mileposts 142.3 and 148.85 near the city of Buckeye.

The project consists of milling the existing pavement surface and replacing it with new asphalt concrete. The work also includes upgrading the northbound approach at the Maricopa County 85 intersection, guardrail installation, drainage work, bridge deck repair and rehabilitation work, pavement marking, traffic control and other miscellaneous work.

Project Area

The project area is on SR 85 between mileposts 142.3 (near Buckeye Hills Drive) and 148.85 (Hazen Road) in Maricopa County near the city of Buckeye in both northbound and southbound directions.

What to Expect

The project is scheduled to begin November 2021 with completion anticipated late summer 2022.

Drivers are asked to use caution, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
