SR 260 narrowed to one lane only of alternating travel southeast of Pinetop-Lakeside to McNary beginning Aug. 22

Drivers should expect delays

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following travel restriction on State Route 260 beginning near the junction with SR 73 to McNary (mileposts 358 - 361) beginning Monday, Aug. 22:

• North- and southbound SR 260 will be reduced to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
• Flaggers and a pilot car will direct traffic through the work zone.
• The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
• Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching the work zone.

The restriction is scheduled to be in place throughout the duration of the project, which is scheduled to be completed this fall.

Additional closures and restrictions may be needed in the coming weeks as construction begins on the 3-mile pavement project.
