Alternating lane closures scheduled on Interstate 10 in Quartzsite beginning Sept. 28

Drivers should expect heavy delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for alternating lane closures on Interstate 10 in Quartzsite beginning Monday, Sept. 28.

Contractors are scheduled to place barrier walls on the I-10 Tyson Wash bridges located between mileposts 18 and 19.

The following restrictions will take place in the work zone 24 hours a day seven days a week beginning Monday, Sept. 28, at 6.am. and ending Friday, Oct. 9, at 11:59 p.m.

  • Alternating lane closures will occur on east- and westbound I-10 between mileposts 18 and 19.
  • A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

ADOT reminds motorists to plan for delays, proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and watch for construction and public safety personnel and equipment.
