Trades Readiness and Certifications (TRAC) Program
ADOT’s OJTSS TRAC program offers no-cost online training designed to introduce individuals to careers in highway construction. Participants selected for enrollment can earn industry-recognized OSHA 10 and/or Flagger certifications and develop foundational knowledge needed to begin a career in the construction industry. This program aims to help prepare individuals for entry into the construction trades, apprenticeships and long-term highway construction careers supporting the future of Arizona’s transportation infrastructure.
Requirements for Enrollment Consideration:
- You are an Arizona resident
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have a valid government issued photo ID
Note: Priority will be given to those interested in pursuing highway construction careers. Enrollment opportunities are dependent on available funding.
Certifications Offered
OSHA 10 (10 hour course)
An OSHA 10 card is widely recognized by employers and is often a prerequisite for employment in industries like construction, manufacturing, and warehousing, demonstrating a commitment to safety and enhancing job prospects. This course will provide entry-level workers with a foundational understanding of workplace safety and health hazards.
Flagger (3.5 hour course)
Flaggers are essential in roadway construction zones to ensure the safety of both workers and the traveling public. They manage traffic flow, provide early warnings of hazards, and help prevent accidents by guiding vehicles through work areas using hand signals, signs, and verbal instructions.
