What is TTEAP?
The Traffic Ticket Enforcement Assistance Program (TTEAP) helps Arizona courts collect unpaid fines and penalties from traffic cases.
If you have unpaid traffic fines or penalties, the court notifies MVD and a stop is placed on vehicles where you are listed as an owner or co-owner.
Important: This stop does not cancel or suspend your current registration. However, you cannot renew the registration until the fines or penalties have been resolved.
How TTEAP Works
- You receive a traffic ticket and owe money to the court.
- The court attempts to collect the balance.
- If the balance remains unpaid, the court notifies MVD.
- MVD places a TTEAP stop on vehicles where you are listed as owner or co-owner. While the stop is active, you cannot renew any of your vehicle registrations.
- Once the court reports that the balance has been resolved, MVD removes the stop.
How to Clear a TTEAP Stop
- Go to AZCourts TTEAP Lookup to find your case information.
- Pay your balance online at AZCourtPay.com.
Note: After you pay all required fees to the necessary court(s), the stop may not be removed the same day. Contact the TTEAP Help Desk at 602-452-3519 or 1-800-720-7743 if you have additional questions.
Renew Your Registration After the Stop Is Removed
Once the stop has been removed, you can renew your registration online through AZ MVD Now.
