ADOT: No major weekend freeway closures in Phoenix area (Dec. 8-11)

Drivers should use caution with work still possible near freeways

No major closures for ongoing improvement projects are scheduled along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Dec. 8-11). ADOT and its contractors have scheduled work that doesn't require full freeway closures through New Year’s weekend. More in this news release.

Federal grant will fund I-17 wildlife overpass near Flagstaff

Award of $24 million comes from Federal Highway Administration

The safety project, which also will include 8-foot-high fencing, is planned along 8.4 miles of I-17 between the Munds Park traffic interchange, about 25 miles south of Flagstaff, and the Kelly Canyon traffic interchange to the north.

ADOT plans to expand commercial truck parking along interstates

Public input welcomed on proposal to add 842 spaces at 10 locations

To address the growing demand for commercial truck parking along state highways, ADOT has developed a statewide truck parking plan that recommends expanding parking at existing rest areas and adding three new facilities.

Arizona traveler information - AZ 511

AZ 511 is part of 511, the nationally-designated, three-digit telephone number for traveler information. Information on highway closures and restrictions is available by calling 511, visiting az511.gov or downloading the AZ 511 mobile app. The website and app include routing, travel times, roadwork and views from ADOT's statewide network of highway cameras. AZ 511 is maintained and operated by the Arizona Department of Transportation in cooperation with regional, state and local partners.
