PHOENIX – State Route 238 is closed in its entirety between Gila Bend and State Route 347 in Maricopa, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The closure is due to flooding in the area.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

There is no estimated time to reopen the highway.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, by calling 511, downloading the AZ 511 app and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT.

Motorists should expect delays of 30 minutes or more while the following restrictions will be in place weekdays on I-40 between I-17 and Walnut Canyon Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Thursday, July 21, through Friday, Aug. 19.
