Adopt a Highway: Inspiring minds talk on trash
Adopt a Highway: Inspiring minds talk on trash

What inspires you to get involved in cleaning up highway trash?
That is a question recently answered by Altar Valley Conservation Alliance representative and Adopt a Highway volunteer Julia Guglielmo.
“It brings everyone together no matter their political beliefs or where they are from,” Julia said. “Anybody from anywhere who enjoys this area can come and help.”
It is a sentiment volunteers can get behind, just like the 11 new groups mentioned in the image above. We’re so proud of the leaders for taking action and inspiring others to help keep Arizona grand!
I’d also like to call attention to two groups who quickly scheduled a cleanup and reported the results:
Congratulations to Buffalo Wild Wings 3359, Bullhead City! Your nine participants cleaned the newly adopted segment along State Route 95 and filled 31 bags, instantly beautifying the area. And that’s not all: Buffalo Wild Wings 3348 adopted a stretch in Prescott Valley, too.
Special thanks to the city of Show Low for continuing to support Adopt a Highway through community cleanups along US 60, State Routes 77 and 260. We appreciate your partnership and the efforts made by the community to reduce litter along our high country highways!
We’d love to hear about your adoption efforts and inspiration for volunteering. Please share your story and photos with me [email protected] or learn more about the program at azdot.gov/adoptahighway.
