Who loves clean highways and adorable puppies? We do.

Register here by Friday, Sept. 6, for an opportunity to participate in an ADOT’s seventh annual trash cleanup on National Cleanup Day, Saturday, Sept. 21.
One-day and two-year volunteer permits are available near the edges of Maricopa County and along US 60 (Grand Avenue). Most adoptable segments are located along less-traveled highways outside of Maricopa County.

Volunteers in the Phoenix metro area. You are invited to join an ADOT-hosted event. Please register and select: ADOT cleanup at Tempe Marketplace.

Already have a permit? Please register your intent to participate and reach out to your designated district contact if you need trash bags and safety vests. Collecting litter on Sept. 21 also counts toward the annual volunteer permit requirement.

How much trash was collected? It is easy to stay out of the doghouse. Please report your trash within three days of the cleanup. Reporting your effort helps us measure the success of the program.

Show us your belly. Please don’t. But we do howl about your accomplishments to our ADOT subscribers and we’d love to share your cleanup event photos on social media. Use the hashtag #NationalCleanUpDay and tag us in your photos..

Trash cleanups are a great way to bring your pack together and accomplish meaningful volunteer service. Check out the Adopt a Highway Volunteer Program for details on how to get started.

And one last note about pets. We love puppies so much that we ask you to leave pets safely at home during cleanups, where they may greet you with a slobbery kiss when you return.

Arizona, keep it grand!
