Attention, aspiring gearheads, tinkerers and mechanics! ADOT is hiring paid interns in its Equipment Services Department.

Interns will get hands-on experience in automotive maintenance, learning how to change oil, inspect, repair and replace tires, belts, hoses and more.

Under the direct guidance of ADOT staff, the position will assist in performing specific preventative maintenance functions.

“Students will learn the basics of automotive repair,” said Anna Gomez, who oversees the program. “This is a great way for young people to jumpstart their careers.”

But that’s not all.

ADOT is also hiring paid apprentice welders. They will learn to design, fabricate and modify equipment.

“Students are provided welding helmets, gloves and other personal protective equipment at no cost to them,” Gomez said.

Gomez said candidates must be enrolled at an automotive or welding education program through high school or vocational school and have three months of education in the applicable area.

Hiring begins July 22nd. To apply, go to https://shorturl.at/n3Gor.
