Capitol Toastmasters Club founded by ADOT marks 50 Years

A Toastmasters Club the Arizona Department of Transportation launched in 1975 to help team members hone their public speaking skills today includes not just ADOT but people from other agencies and the community.
The Capitol Toastmasters Club recently held a 50th anniversary celebration featuring a cake brought by Toastmasters Area Director Jessica Sublansky.
“We all had a great time at the event and had fun catching up with each other,” said ADOT Project Manager Chris Lavoie, the group’s outgoing president.
The group now has members from the Arizona Department of Health Services, Arizona Department of Veterans Services, Maricopa County and the public. Although meetings have mostly transitioned to a virtual format, the 50th anniversary celebration gave everyone an opportunity to foster connections and celebrate in person.
This was more than just a party; it was an opportunity for state employees to network, share stories and reflect on the impact of communication training in public service. ADOT is proud to support organizations like the Capitol Toastmasters Club that align with our vision of connecting Arizona.
Congratulations to the Capitol Toastmasters Club on 50 years of service and skill-building. Here's to the next 50!
